We wanted to find a nice meal for Thanksgiving. Of course everything was booked. So we found Todd’s Unique Dining, which is on Sunset in Henderson, near where Sunset takes that bend and runs into Mountain Vista. We had an excellent turkey dinner with innovative side dishes, and a threesome dessert that included a small pecan tart. The cocktails were interesting too, we had a blackberry mojito and an orange spritzer. At Christmas we wanted to try something different, so of course all the restaurants were booked again, at least per OpenTable. The Casa Calavera at the Virgin Hotel (the former Hard Rock) seemed to have an innovative menu. When we got there, the casino was like a ghost town. I have never seen such an empty casino. The restaurant was pretty empty too. The food was OK but not enough to go back. We paid about the same thing as we did at Todd’s. Casa Calavera has nice decor, but Todd’s has great food.
