Ichthyosaurus
The largest, intact, fossil in the U.S. of this prehistoric fish is right here, in the state of Nevada. It is on display at a museum at the Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park in Nye county. It is only one of many more fossils that are on view. It is a full fledged fossil bed. The size of the fossil on display is very impressive, the skull alone is 6 feet, the body is is about 55 feet. We are talking about a top predator here. It is pretty far (345 miles) from center strip. It still may be worth it because of Berlin. You may have wondered why there is a double name. It is because of Berlin. It is the only ghost town I have ever heard of that is almost completely preserved. I mean, even the pots and pans and kitchen sink are still there. The reason for the is it is within walking distance of that state park. The rangers keep an eye on things. and prevent looting. I would make the trip, except during the middle of the summer, or the dead of winter. That area gets a lot of snow. http://www.parks.nv.gov
