Blue Diamond
Very cute, little , town. Away from all the noise. To get there take the I 160 , the Pahrump Highway. and turn off into the Spring Mountain Road It is not far, but probably not worth your time. This area attracts a lot of hikers. It has gotten to the point where you need a reservation to use the road beyond Blue Diamond. What makes this town noteworthy is the fact that it was a stop over on the old Spanish Trail, that ran from Santa Fe, New Mexico, to Los Angeles, California.(la Poblacion de Nuestra Snora la Reina de Porciuncula) .that was what In those days Los Angeles was simply called . Blue Diamond’It was then known as “Ojo de Cayetano” The only place for many miles with natural springs. Now it is a dusty little town, but in the day it was hugely important. Have you visited? What was your impression? I actually like it, a lot.
