Goldfield
185 miles one way. It is a bit of a ride, although the roads are well maintained. The main attraction here is the enormous (for its time) hotel, that still stands amidst broken down and falling down buildings. Like almost all historical hotels in Nevada, this one also has ghosts. I have visited several times. Lots of old mines and equipment out in the desert. in 1906 it had a population of 20,000, five years later it was 5,000. From boom to bust.
We always strive to help our local artists and the expensive space is a donation. We have three books on our list for this week. They are: Nevada a Strange State, Silveropolis and The Great Lake Mead Water Caper. They are available on Amazon and all proceeds will go to the artist. We thank you.
