I have a few recommendations in case you want to tear yourself away from the slots and embark on an unforgettable trip. It is about 100 miles up north on the I 15, with a short turn off. It is the Valley of Fire, a stat park. Here we have an entire valley that is red in color. Every rock, every bit of dust is red. Ten bucks admission, a museum, gift shop and lots of historic Indian carvings all over the rocks. Picnic areas are available free of charge. Well paved roads with built in curves and turns. Don’t forget to take a look at the “cabins” built in the thirties by the Works Administration to provide jobs to the hungry.
