The first thing upon entering I noticed was the extremely friendly, helpful and
knowledgable staff. I just know a lot of money has gone into training. The
dining room is laid out so all food is available within a relatively short
distance from one's seat. We arrived on 8/25/00 at 7:15 PM and were seated
almost immediately. The dining room is decorated in very warm brown and red
colors. Good variety and quality of food. There was a seafood station, an
Italian station, a Mexican station, a middle eastern station, an American
station, an Asian Station, two salad stations, a large dessert station all with
numerous selections. I was especially impressed with the seafood, middle
eastern and salad stations. Imagine, a hotel buffet that bothers to nicely peel
and slice an assortment of melons. You do not see that very often. I had mostly
middle eastern food such as spit roasted lamb, eggplant, squash, onions and
tomatoes all very well prepared and seasoned. I also liked the hummus and the
curried chickpeas with potatoes. My companion had mostly salads and vegetables
since she is a vegetarian. Here again a huge selection was available to her.
The total price came to $40.75 but I think this is higher than normal because
it was Friday and it was a seafood buffet.
I visited again yesterday and found the quality just as good as on the first
day.
After much turmoil this hotel is once again in transition. It has been taken
over by the Planet Hollywood people. Look for more info under the
"hotels/casinos" listing. |
