Forums Italian Restaurants

From pizza to haute cuisine, Italian food is the most prolific type in most cities in the United States.  Las Vegas is no exception. Which are the best in town? We recently had the pleasure of dining at a couple of the most well known Italian restaurants on the Las Vegas strip. The food was very good across the board, wherever we dined. The problem is the price. They were very over priced. Italian food is a very basic cuisine, pasta dishes mostly, some pizzas, maybe an osso buco here and there. But mostly basic. I don't see where it needs to be priced in the $$$ and even $$$$ price range. There are some very good Italian restaurants that are off the strip, or in the second tier hotels/casinos. They charge perhaps half of what strip places charge. My opening statement was "I had the pleasure". I stick to it. But it all is too pricey. I am local. I bet visitors think differently about it. It would be interesting to find out what you folks out there think. Let us know, post your opinion. If we get enough responses we will be able to let the restaurant operators know.
