Tinoco's Bistro

. The dining room is rather bland, eart tones and in an L shape. Very plain and
the lighting wasn' t that great either. On the menu are some old standbys like
shrimp pesto ($12.95), rack of lamb (21.95), chicken marsala ($11.95), and
chicken ceasar ($8.95) as a salad. Surprises are the mushu duck ($18.95), and
ahi tuna ($8.95) with asian slaw and soy ginger as an appetizer. That is
different for an italian restaurant. I had the sorrel and mushroom soup of the
day. Interesting and good. The chilean sea bass with curry and lobster sauce on
the other hand did not work for me. I found the sauce too over powering. A fish
such as this is better served with a plain sauce. Or better yet with lemon
butter only. Hey, how's about this, give the guest a choice, it would not be
hard to do. I had a very good, albeit it pricey, glass of merlot. I cannot shake
the feeling that their original location (on S. Jones) has better food. It
might be only my imagination. |
