The Venetian, 414-1888 Suite 108 is next to the Star Canyon steakhouse and the Pinot Brasserie. The decor is somewhat stark, nay cold. What with the dark browns and blacks, beiges and whites. The only relief for the eye are the pastel greens on the columns. The wine list is extensive and features a 1990 Dom Perignon Rose at $900. By the glass the wines are from $8 to $15. I had the Pai Par Tofu (fried pockets filled with tofu) and my friend ordered the Fon Ton Tofu (fried tofu). I hate it when restaurants try to nickel and dime you. For the price I paid for my dinner rice could have been included. But no, they had to nick me for another dollar. The food was adequate, but somewhat dry. A sauce was provided with my food. The waiter had warned me about its spicyness but I found it rather mild and bland even. My beer (Harp) cost me $5.25. The two dinners added up were $50 plus tip. I think for that price I can do better elsewhere. A Wolfgang Puck place for instance. Therefore I cannot really recommend this place. |
