Real roller coasters are located in the Adventure Dome: take the escalator to the second floor. I think these are the only rides in Las Vegas that are entirely indoors. There are two of them and they are ideal for the younger kids. Lots of other stuff there too. You can spend a whole afternoon there. see their website

If you want scary, this is the to go to place.  It does not get any scarier.

The ultimate Vegas free fall from the 108th floor. The wind’ll go whoosh. You’ll go $#!@%. Or yippee. Or yeah. Or yikes. Chances are your blood curdling screams will be heard in the sky high above the Las Vegas Strip. Stratosphere’s new SkyJump Las Vegas thrill ride will be the jump of your life — no matter what you might be yelling. For your inner adrenaline junkie wanting the ultimate Las Vegas free fall, sky dive or base jump, SkyJump is the attraction to choose. It provides the highest controlled free fall in the world, all from the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower. Before the jump, riders are prepped and suited up in Stratosphere’s custom jump suits and given a safety lesson. After a short elevator trip to the top of the Stratosphere Tower, the jumper is connected to a high-speed “descender” and led to the edge of the platform. Just take that last step and plummet through the sky 855 feet, or the equivalent of 108 floors. SkyJump Las Vegas is one of the premier tourist attractions in the world and the newest ultimate Vegas thrill ride experience. For more detailed information visit skyjumplasvegas.com. Real ride. Some really scary rides here. Go to the top of the tower (I suggest the elevator). One is a roller coaster on top of the tower. The other one is even scarier. It is like a rocket blasting off into outer space. Bring puke bags!! Remember, the tower is about 1000 ft tall.

Insanity

Insanity – The Ride Acrobat or Acrophobe? The best Las Vegas thrill ride has 3 ‘G’s of pure Insanity. Insanity the Ride is a truly mind-bending experience! A massive mechanical arm extending out 64 feet over the edge of the Stratosphere Tower at a height of over 900 feet, this Vegas ride will spin you and several other passengers in the open air at speeds of up to three ‘G’s. You’ll be propelled up to an angle of 70 degrees, which will tilt your body into one position — straight down! If you’re brave enough to keep your eyes open you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking view of historic downtown Las Vegas. Experience Insanity and walk away to tell the tale!

X-Scream Hero or Zero? I Scream, You Scream, We all Scream on this Vegas ride. Ever played on a giant teeter-totter, 866 feet above the ground? With the X-Scream, you can! Its space age, yet simplistic design resembles a massive teeter-totter or a Vegas rollercoaster unlike any other ever seen. X-Scream propels you and several other riders headfirst, 27 feet over the edge of the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower. Try not to scream when you go over the edge — you don’t want to scare the other riders! After being shot over the edge, you’ll dangle weightlessly above the Las Vegas Strip before being pulled back and propelled over again for more.

Big Shot Thrillseeker or Bystander? How about a Vegas amusement park ride that touches the sky? Strap into the Big Shot and prepare to be shot 160 feet in the air at 45 miles per hour as you overlook the majestic Las Vegas Valley. In a matter of seconds, the Big Shot thrill ride catapults 16 riders from the 921-foot high platform up the Tower’s mast to a height of 1,081 feet and down again. Before you catch your breath, you’ll be shot back up again at forces unmatched by other Vegas thrill parks! Experience a gut-wrenching four ‘G’s of force on the way up, and feel negative ‘G’s on the way down as your legs dangle in the Las Vegas skyline.
